Would you like to play with me for a little while? What I remember. 24 memories from you.
Performance 2020
On June 4, 2020 in the Port of Thessaloniki, the performance entitled “Would you like to play with me for a little while? What I remember. 24 memories from you.” was held by Εugenia Grammenou under the supervision of M. Marmarinou / AUTh Theater Department. This particular performance dealt with the issue of memory and how much it defines the present through recall processes. Remembrance as an ongoing procedure and time with its philosophical and political extensions, are the main subjects of the artist’s research. Memories change/affect and define our present in an inevitable way.
Memory as a process in progress defines who we are and is constantly defined by (its) loss. What we remember is chosen by unconscious internal processes that are constantly evolving and directly related to the perception of time, as what we ultimately recall determines the present on multiple levels.

‘How many areas of my life have been lost forever. Entire areas. I look back and see nothing. Great durations of time lost forever. Reality is a constant loss. A constant annihilation of now. The constant transformation of now into never. Entire areas of my life have been lost forever. This is my life. I could not keep anything, I could not save anything. This is my life. The state of loss.’
